Peanut oil, also known as groundnut oil is a vegetable oil often used in American, Chinese, South Asian cuisines, both for general cooking, and for added flavour. Peanut oil is perfect for deep-frying. It does not absorb the flavour of other foods cooked in the oil. It is a stable cooking oil that has a long shelf life.

Peanut oil has a very safe balance of fatty acids along with other vitamins, minerals, and organic compounds found in peanuts. Peanut oil is high in energy and free of cholesterol. Peanut oil has high levels of antioxidants which eliminate free radicals that cause diseases like cancer. It contains resveratrol, a multi-functional antioxidant, that has shown to eliminate or slow the onset of cognitive disorders like Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

People with peanut allergy should avoid ingesting peanut oil as a precaution.
